Multi-Track Audio Support
Rave features 6 and 8 channels (24bit, 48KHz) unbalanced AES/EBU in and out audio. Balanced XLR connectors and unbalanced BNC connectors in addition to 16 channels of (24bit, 48KHz) embedded audio. Rave supports reading and writing audio directly to/from the DPX header in addition to supporting a wave file attached to a set of frames. Audio can exist in both the header and as a wave, as Rave is smart enough to overlook the header audio if a .wave file exists.

Audio channels can be mapped (in pairs)in any combination. For example any 2 channels can be mapped to any 2 channels, not just to channel 1 and 2. The audio indicators allow you to see both incoming and outgoing audio streams. Embedding audio in the header insures audio and image sync is always accurate with no slippage or drift. Rave does offer tools to pull and push audio from the headers and the audio embedding in the header in no way effects the DPX and it's ability to be used by other applications. Other applications if they are not capable of it, simply do not see the audio information .
