RIOT Santa Monica adds second RaveHD to it's pipeline.
(Oakdale, California -- Sept, 2006) SpectSoft LLC., a leading provider of uncompressed video solutions on the Linux platform announced today that RIOT Santa Monica adds a second RaveHD system to pipeline.
RaveHD continues to replace functions that other DDR and VTRs were providing. "With the capability to work in an uncompressed 4:4:4 RGB frame based format in real-time and offering full VTR emulation, SR decks can now be replaced with less expensive solutions like RaveHD", states Ramona Howard, President of SpectSoft. "and with support for Davinci, Quantel, Avid, FCP and Discreet products, studios now are looking at RaveHD as a viable VTR replacement".
Utilizing commodity hardware, RaveHD systems prices start at $19,995 and support from 3TB to 18TB of local storage in a SATA array configuration and offers one of the highest quality video solutions on the market today, addressing many concerns seen by other systems. RaveHD supports uncompressed SD-SMPTE 259M, HD-SMPTE 292M, Dual Link HD(4:4:4)- SMPTE 372M and 2K HSDL for both capture and playback in a single system as well as hardware accelerated upconverting, downconverting and cross-converting. The RaveHD systems feature integrated RS-422 hardware that allows for both slave and master control, LTC support and unlimited scalability with dual 10/100/1000 gigabit Ethernet in addition to features like frame oriented, standard file system storage and centralized database asset tracking, RP188 (embedded timecode), Varicam flagging support, Conform, and a programmable cadence engine. RaveHD is natively frame-based but does offer some built-in tools for those working with Quicktimes and Avids DNxHD codec.
RaveHD is in use by studios worldwide and has played an integral role in the making of many films. Bridging the film to data gap RaveHD continues to compliment the workflow by natively working in industry standard formats and is the only product of it's kind to supply it's entire source code to it's clients for integration in the process. A product that continues to grow and evolve daily with the help and collaboration of studios worldwide makes this product a valuable asset for us to have onboard.
